Women of the ELCA COMMITTEE

The purpose statement of the Women of the ELCA is "As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

All women of Immanuel are members of the Women of the ELCA. We do not hold regular meetings and we do not pay dues. We try to gather at least four times each year to plan the events we do sponsor. Some of our events include the biennial Scandinavian Festival, a Christmas gathering, Thankoffering and occasionally other events that may include other units of the Women of the ELCA. We do take a free will offering, when we meet, to help support our projects.
